Timing
The sunlight in September and October is the best (like soft and warm) by the end of the day. Try to schedule your session preferably at some time between 3:30PM and 5PM. Or in the morning between 9:00 and 11:00 AM.
Fall Photo Session: Location
Your Fall Family Photo Session can take place (almost) anywhere! If you need some inspiration for this year’s location, take a look at these ideas. Memorable family photos guaranteed!
1. Lincoln Park Zoo | Bridge over the South Pond
Lincoln Park Zoo | Bridge over the South Pond and North avenue beach never go out of style! They’re both perfect locations for your fall family photo session!
1B Lincoln Park Zoo – Back side
Beautiful fall foliage just at the rear entrance of Lincoln park Zoo
Mini session or make it a Full one and combine this gorgeous spot with the nature board walk (Bridge over the Sout Pond) For the best fall colors book this location towards the end of October or early November.
2. A neighborhood park
Isn’t the neighborhood park where childhood memories are made?
The place where you watched your toddler go down the slide for the first time? Where your kids took their first steps toward making friends and having fun adventures?
Capturing your fall family photos in your neighborhood park means preserving those moments in a setting that’s meaningful, a unique snapshot of a special time and place in your family’s life.
3. At the 606 Bucktown/Wickerpark
Chicago Nature Museum State Park is an amazing nature park just across the Lincoln Park Zoo. This location is available for Mini Family Photo sessions and Full Family Photo sessions. The 606 is a perfect spot for Bucktown and Wickerpark family’s. It’s walking distance from home and it offers a great variety of nature and urban backdrops.
4. Downtown Chicago
A totally different location for your fall family photo session is downtown Chicago. The vibrant city with its impressive high rises, steel bridges and beautiful river is the perfect backdrop for a city vibed family photo session.
Weekdays are highly recommended for a downtown photo session.
During September and October There’ll be only FULL Photo Sessions downtown Chicago
5. North Avenue Beach
Lincoln Park Zoo | Bridge over the South Pond and North avenue beach never go out of style! They’re both perfect locations for your fall family photo session!
For another amazing skyline and a glimpse of the ferris wheel, Milton Lee Olive Park is an absolute amazing choice! (Snap some pictures at Ohio Street Beach as well!)
Mini Session or Full Session?
Mini Family Photo Session
Whether you choose to book a mini photo session or a full family photo session for fall depends on what you’re looking for. A quick photo session with 10 photos to keep offers enough for a few beautiful family photo updates and your to-go-for photo for the Holiday cards. Perfect if that’s what you want out of a fall family photo session! Mini Photo Sessions are only available on Saturdays or weekdays at limited locations:

Full Photo Sessions are available on Saturday, Sunday and weekdays at any location in Chicago.
